[Bug] Multi keywords on url result in alert error

Type "WebMail Notifier the books on the table" (yes, random words just to proof the issue) without quotation, hold ALT key and press ENTER, new tab will open with an alert message "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded."

Someone else to confirm?

?

Care to explain that? Most people would guess you're talking about typing into the Firefox location bar (or 'Awesome bar')... type that and Alt-Entering just creates a new tab of search results... the first one of which is your post here. Game?

Sorry, not paid attention to

Sorry, not paid attention to lack of information. Yes, it is from urlbar/location bar/awesome bar. The expected result is the search on default engine, but all I got is this alert bellow:

Version?

What version of FF? an alpha?

Does it happen if you leave off the "Webmail Notifier"? (just use 'the books on the table' part) ...if so, then perhaps your search default is not set or broken.

Firefox

If any words used can cause the "bug", it would seem to be a Firefox problem.
Or did this just start happening after you updated WMN?

Perhaps try setting a "default" search provider in Firefox.

Multi keywords on url result in alert error

I can confirm that when the option "Keep session for links" is selected in WMN and location bar is set to open in a new tab, Firefox is no longer able to do keyword searches from the location bar. This happens even if the tabs are not assigned to any account. Thus, WMN is disabling Firefox's keyword lookup feature when the option "Keep session for links" is set.

Notes

I've finally been able to reproduce your anomaly... latest FF (10.0.2) and WMN (2.9.3) ...with a tab open, typing a multi-word destination in the location/'Awesome' bar, and pressing Alt+Enter... gives the 'URL is not valid' error.

However, it does -not- matter, for me, if "Keep session..." is checked or not.

I'll note that if you do this from a new tab... there is no problem, FF will just open the search in that new tab, even when using Alt+Enter.

And...
If you have a tab open to some website, then...
If you enter just one word in location bar and press Alt+Enter, FF -will- try to open the one word as a website.com in a new tab... if the one word website.com does -not- exist then FF indicates such with a "Problem loading page" notice... as it should.

However, with a tab open to some website, if you enter more than one word in the location bar and press Alt+Enter, FF gives the error 'The URL is not valid...' while WMN is enabled. If you disable WMN in the add-ons manager, then use more than one word in location bar, pressing Alt+Enter -will- work to open a new tab of search results.

I emailed wmnsupport.
