Do you have trouble with WMN 2.9.1 ?

tobwithu's picture

Sorry for your inconvenience.
I will try to fix it, as always.

1. What has happened?
WMN 2.9.1 has different cookie handling method with previous version.
Previous versions handled cookies in its own way.
WMN 2.9.1 handles cookies with Firefox's cookie manager.

2. What is better?
WMN can keep logged in state. Previous version tried login for every startup of Firefox.
WMN 2.9.1 skip this login process and can check mail faster.
Google 2-step verification works properly now because of this.

3. What is the problem?
Because of cookies, there could be a conflict with other extensions.
But I am not sure what it is because all of my accounts works fine.

4. What should I do?
Please help me to figure out the problem is from WMN itself or conflict with other extensions.
- export WMN settings
- start firefox with new profile like below
firefox.exe -no-remote -profile "C:\Test"
- install WMN and import WMN settings
- check if it works.

5. What if this does not work?
Please mail to wmnsupport at gmail.com for more communication.

Mine stopped working

Mine stopped working yesterday, I reverted back to 2.8.3 and works fine, I have no other add on extensions as this is a new Laptop, I am on the latest release of Firefox.9.0.1

FIRST TIME Tobwithu send me personal e-mail.

For past over two years I always send e-mail comment or problem to Tobwithu and he reply back to me.

But this time "First Time" he send me e-mail to ask "A Favor" to provide MY Profile Folder!

AND I DID IT!

I told him, I do NOT want to bother change ALLLL my 50 e-mail password.
I want to leave as is. When he is done, he will destroy my profile in manner-wise.

I send 4 profile folder Two Firefox and Two Thunderbird (one of each 2.8.3 and 2.9.1 to compare.)
Oh by the way, I am Macintosh user.

When Tobwithu update 2.9.[?], and WMN user will "THANKS" to me for provide my profile folder to Tobwithu!

Thanks, CFBancroft

WMN 2.9.2 works for all my Gmail accounts now ... Thanks tobwithu and CFB.

WMN 2.9.2 does not work for me

I have firefox 9.0.1 and downloaded the new version of webmail notifier, hoping it would work. I can at least start firefox without crashing but when I select options in wmn firefox freezes and I have to use task manager to end programme.

Any help would be appreciated as I have always liked this add-on.

Thanks.

Margot :)

Known forum problem

Those errors are a known problem of the mozdev.org forum software... nothing WebMail Notifier can do. Mozdev.org is run by volunteers... and for whatever reason, they aren't updating the forum software (in a timely manner) to be more compatible with the hosting server software... so we suffer the errors until they do. I've posted a bug report on mozdev.org... and it was aggregated into previous bug reports. From what I read, it's a glitch between forum software and newer host-server operating system software.

So no WebMail users can access their My Accounts?

In a way that helps me. Just so I know I'm not the only one.

Thanks for the Reply.

That's right.

Until the mozdev.org volunteers get off their collective duff and update/upgrade/fix the version of the forum software, we won't be able to change passwords, or many other account functions.

I would savage them more bitterly here if I thought some of them were reading and would respond. All we can do is harass them on the bug report area for mozdev.org and that would get us banned from that area (a program/coder's haven).

If I get bored, I may implore them to provide SOME kind of update on the problem.
I think it is deplorable to run forum software in this state, especially for the amount of time it has gone on, where user accounts are not maintainable by the user, nor probably anyone else.

Now let me tell you how I really feel ;)...
