Security: How are the usernames and passwords handled?

I have just downloaded this add-on but yet to configure it. From the reviews, it looks pretty good and this is something I have been looking for.

Before setting this up, I would like to know how the usernames and passwords for my email accounts are handled by this add-on. Are the usernames and passwords encrypted and stored in my computer or are they sent to a server?

Thanks

User and Password ENCRYPTED in Firefox, NOT WMN.

Firefox=>Preferences...=>Security[Tabs]=>
[X] Use a master password
you enter your password and it protect whole Firefox and any other Add-on include WMN will cover protect.

Myself I do NOT like "[X] Use a master password", because it bother me keep asking me allllll the time "pest",
I use password on Screen Saver, When I open computer, I must type password ONCE.

While Firefox ask me every-time, whatever I want to change somethings.

It depend on environment, If your computer use at WORK? (Yes) then please use Firefox's password to protect you. BUT I am use computer at home, I am using Screen Saver's password to protect from my kids play with this computer, that all.

Thanks, CFBancroft

Thanks CFBancroft, Yes you

Thanks CFBancroft,

Yes you are right. I had a look under Firefox's Saved Passwords. Whenever I add a new account through the WMN interface, it automatically adds the username and password to FF's Saved Passwords.

There is something else I need to clarify. In Saved Passwords window, under Site, it says "chrome://wmn/accounts/gmail. Why does it say "chrome"?

"chrome://" vs "http://" Google Search

I saw one of example...

Myself I do NOT understand computer language... BUT you (WMT) can explain to me "simple-baby" English language, what "chrome://" means? (summary for WMN purpose.)

I add one more,
If you see Tobwithu explain
http://webmailnotifier.mozdev.org/drupal/content/do-you-have-trouble-wmn...

He wrote "2. What is better?"
Previous version tried login for every startup of Firefox. (use "http://"???)
WMN 2.9.1 skip this login process and can check mail faster. (use "chrome://"???)
Google 2-step verification works properly now because of this. (use "chrome://"???)

I assume Tobwithu to use with "chrome://"???, I am not sure... I let you (WMT) reading and explain to me simple English.

Many Thanks, CFBancroft
