AFAIK ever since 2.9x WMN does not work with Gmail. Previous versions worked fine, but now they do not. In 2.83 it worked fine. Unlike others, my Yahoo & Hotmail/MSN emails work fine.
I have tried user_id & user_id@gmail.com .. they do not work =(
edit: 2.83 isn't working either .. maybe it was 2.8.2 or summat.
edit2: ?!?!?! 2.82 doesn't work now .. I end up at the login webpage .. are there error logs?
I did a manual login for
I did a manual login for each gmail account and restart FF a few times and it seemed to do the trick
I've tried making a new FF
I've tried making a new FF profile and everything .. nothing I do is working =(
Plus I can only use a one time use password here .. as the profile page or whatever is full of red/pink errors.
Keep trying
It may not help, but read Modus's post again... you can click the WMN account in the WMN window or in the right-click pop-up list... to manually log in, if that still works. Sometimes manual logins clear things up.
The red/pink errors are a mozdev.org forum software fault, nothing WMN can do (except move to different provider)... and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for mozdev.org to fix it.

[SOLVED]
I tried this again on another new profile, export & import .. when I click Gmail, I am presented with the login page. When I try to log in manually, I get an message saying 'Your password was changed 42 days ago.' I do not recall that on my normal profile, because I have FF remember my passwords.
I've reset a new password, and will try again .. maybe that message was messing up WMN.
edit:
After I reset a new password, and changed it in WMN it works. I was using the samw password as my other Google manual login .. but for some reason it wasn't logging in.
The error message was not 'The username and or password was incorrect' type of thing .. it was 'Your password was changed 42 days ago.'
Different msg
Yes, I've seen that msg when I put in an old password... which is incorrect ;).
I use a complicated password and hate being forced to change.
Then these providers with multiple services can confuse a user... putting in a password for a different service can sometimes change your main password.... and they don't exactly make that clear. MobileMe did that to my Apple ID, and Google has forced me twice. One of my banks forces it monthly. And they won't let you use the last 10, or 12, or 50 passwords.
So, the manual logins can help sort things out, where WMN checking is virtually 'silent'.
