Strange problem: if WMN 2.9 is enabled, then Firefox doesn't start maximized

I've noticed this strange problem:
if WMN 2.9 is enabled,
then if I have Firefox 9.0.1 open **but not maximized**,
and I maximize Firefox and close it,
then when I restart Firefox, it's not maximized.

BUT, if, while have Firefox open but not maximized,
I open a new window(ctrl+N) and maximize it,
then close firefox by the Firefox button>Exit
then on restart it's maximized again.

Also, if Firefox window is **already maximized**
and I close+restart it, then it opens maximized again ok.

Disabling the WMN addon fixes the problem:
meaning that if I have Firefox open but not maximized,
then I maximize Firefox and close it+restart it
then it's maximized ok.

This happens only when I have in Options>Gereral>Show my windows & tabs from last time,
and have the "don't load tabs until selected" enabled.
If, instead I have "(When firefox starts) show a blank page"
then the problem -even with WMN enabled- never happens.

Maybe WMN conficts which some other addon?

I tried to disable most of my addons one-by-one (noscript, greasemonkey, stylish, tabmix plus, betterprivacy etc)
but the problem still exists: only disabling WMN fixes it.
(my enabled addons: http://pastebin.com/4gz9MWRg )

I even tried this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf
but didn't help.

PS. Also, in a fresh Firefox profile, with only WMN 2.9 installed, the problem never happens

(Sorry for the lengthy post. I tried to describe the issue in detail)

Just some observations...

You kind of shoot your case in the foot about WMN, with that PS.

But there's something going on, eh?

Why not try adding in your other add-ons one-at-a-time to the 'fresh profile -with- WMN 2.9' already loaded ...and see if it starts getting whacky that way. (or dump them all in at once to see if maximize gets forgotten in 'fresh' profile.)

VERY tedious I know, but... if fresh profile WMN maximize works fine, well...

Is it compatible

Try this one it is useful and it works:

https://bitbucket.org/eternicode/isitcompatible/src

Every time Ff installs an update, it is the same mess...
Aren't we all so happy that they do that every 2 weeks?

Only informational...

From the 'isitcompatible' coder:

"About this Add-on

This addon does exactly one thing: displays Firefox or Thunderbird compatibility versions for each addon in the addons window (Tools Menu -> Add-ons).

It also adds the ability to copy an extension's ID to the clipboard ("Copy ID" in extension's context menu). If you only need to quickly reference the ID, it's available as a tooltip on the compatibility range.

Works for extensions, themes, and locales."

@johngreyAll my addons are

@johngrey
All my addons are compatible with 9.0.1 - no force install.

@RpD
Thanks for your useful post.
By following your advice,
I disabled all addons, then enabling them one by one, while keeping WMN enabled all the time
helped me to find the problem, and I managed to recreate it in a clean profile too:
WMN 2.9 conflicts with the latest Internet Download Manager addon: IDM CC 7.3.11.

Here's how:
1. install the latest Internet Download Manager v6.08 build 8 from here.
2. make a new Firefox profile & run Firefox
3. install WMN, and *add 1 account in it* (check screenshot in PS)
3. go in IDM window>Downloads>Options>General tab>use advanced browser integration
and tick 'Mozilla Firefox'
4. check addons tab: make sure that the IDM CC 7.3.11 addon is enabled (restart Firefox if needed).

Then, have the window not maximized, then maximize it & close Firefox:
on restart it won't be maximized!

But, if you disable the IDM CC addon, then no problem.
Also, if you have them both enabled (IDM CC & WMN),
but have WMN with no accounts in it, then again, no problem!

PS. WMN has the default settings, as you can see:

Interesting

Good for you on taking the tedious time to figure out the conflict! ;)

I found out that all this

I found out that all this IDM CC addon causes other problems too:
- when restarting Firefox, the restored tabs where not loaded at all (had as tab title "New Tab"),
you had to click on them, in order to load and to display their tab title.
- there wasn't a Remove button on IDM CC addon, so there isn't a way ro uninstall it
(though in their site, they say that this happens only in old IDM versions...
I followed their instructions, closed+restarted Firefox, and there still wasn't any remove button...)
The only way is to uninstal the IDM program altogether.

The fact that it conflicted with WMN, was only one of the issues that it caused...
So, I uninstalled IDM altogether, and, no more problems :)

offtopic: I love WMN 2.9:
the login speed boost it got is absolutely fantastic!
Byungwook Kang: thank you!!

did NOT added addon except WMN 2.9.1 do NOT work.

Macintosh 10.6.8 FF 10 beta, I did NOT added addon except WMN 2.9.1, WITH NEW PROFILE, do NOT work at all.

I got same result
WMN forum not working.
the second gmail not working.
ALL AOL not working.

I guess Window work fine, I am happy for you (zakk), but NOT on Macintosh with Firefox yet.

I revert to 2.8.3 on Macintosh with Firefox 10 beta works again.

I hope Tobwithu will take care for Macintosh with Firefox on next release.

Thanks, CFBancroft

I hope its ok to post here

I hope its ok to post here if not I am sorry.

Is there away of removing WBN from the bookmarks bar? I don't mean hide it by clicking on the 'View Toolbars' I want to be able to remove it completely because its conflicting with my multirow toolbar. This only happens when I get notifications from WMN. I've added a couple of snapshots but I'm not to sure if I have done them correctly?

This is without WMN

Photobucket

This is with WMN

Photobucket

As you can see most of my bookmarks have gone.

Browser Firefox 9.0.0 WMN 2.9.2

View, Toolbars, Customize (or right-click toolbar, Customize)

You can click View, Toolbars, Customize (or right-click toolbar, Customize) ...and simply drag the WMN envelope icon off the toolbar... into the Customize window, or somewhere else. You just have to have the Customize window open.
And...

It's not a major problem posting here, but you really should start a new post/topic 'thread' for your post because it doesn't relate exactly to the topic of previous posts here. No problem, though ;) (Well done on the snapshots! ;)

To create a new topic... you can click the "Forums" link on the gray-ish panel to the right... and then at the top of the new page, click 'Post new forum topic'... then choose the forum you want to post to... and type your post. ;)
